Campaign « NO to the USE of CHILDREN for POLITICAL PURPOSES »

On October 12th, Cameroonians will go to the polls to choose the President of the Republic for the coming years. A strong and historic moment. What the Multi Media Group Mbolo Cameroon, the cultural association La Voix des Personnes Handicapées du Cameroun, and many other observers notice, is the USE of CHILDREN in their messages and other communication tools. Lacking arguments or inspiration in terms of communication, they use children to say not only LIES, but THINGS they cannot JUSTIFY. So, Mbolo Cameroon and La Voix des Personnes Handicapées, who do not belong to any side, are not taking to the streets, but are going wherever necessary to DENOUNCE this…

The use of children for political purposes can have serious and lasting consequences on their well-being, development, and future. Here are some potential consequences:

  1. Psychological trauma: Children exposed to situations of violence, fear, or stress can develop psychological disorders such as anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic stress.
  2. Exploitation and abuse: Children used for political purposes are vulnerable to exploitation and abuse, including physical, emotional, or sexual abuse.
  3. Loss of childhood: Children used for political purposes are deprived of their childhood and their right to education, leisure, and a normal life.
  4. Impact on education: Children who miss school or have difficulty concentrating on their studies may see their professional and personal future affected.
  5. Stigmatization and exclusion: Children stigmatized or excluded by their community may see their self-esteem and social integration affected.
  6. Risk to their safety: Children exposed to risks to their safety, including violence, arrests, or injuries.
  7. Long-term impact: The consequences of using children for political purposes can be lasting and affect their adult life, including their mental health, relationships, and ability to trust others.

It is essential to take measures to protect children from political exploitation and promote their rights and well-being.
